Nenjam Marappathillai (Tamil: நெஞ்சம் மறப்பதில்லை) (lit.:The Heart Never Forgets) is a 2017 - 2019 Tamil LanguageRomance soap opera starring Sharanya Turadi Sundaraj, Amit Bhargav and Sowmya Rao Nadig.[1] Its main plot has been taken from the Bengali language love triangle series Kusum Dola and with different story and screenplay by Rasool.[2] It was aired from 9 October 2017 on Vijay TV[3] on every Monday to Friday at 20:00 (IST)[4][5] and replaced the super Hit serial Mappillai. This serial was a triangle love story about Vikram (Amit Bhargav), Sathya (Sowmya Rao Nadig) and Saranya Vikram (Sharanya Turadi Sundaraj), whose lives got changed after certain incident. On 20 August 2018, the show shifted to air Monday through Friday at 20:30 (IST). This TV series has ended on 22 February 2019 as Amit Bhargav left the serial. It has been replaced with the new serial Barathi Kannamma.

Plot[edit]

Vikram (Amit Bhargav) is an aspiring IPS officer his joint family where people have different thoughts. On a trip Vikram meets Sathya (Nisha Krishnan/Sowmya Rao Nadig) and both develop feelings for each other but they can’t express their feelings. Vikram gets posted to Kodaikanal, but accidentally he loses his phone & could not contact Sathya.

Saranya(Sharanya Turadi Sandaraj), a small town good hearted soul and daughter of a police officer lives in kodaikanal. She is a loving girl to everyone in her town. Due to circumstances, Saranya loses her father and feels that IPS officer Vikram is one of the reason for her father’s death. Orphan Saranya tries to commit suicide after that. Her villagers force Vikram to marry her and take responsibility in fulfilling her future, So Saranya gets married to him. But both can’t accept each other as husband and wife.[6]

On confronting them, Sathya feels cheated and betrayed by Vikram. The story revolves around their life in Vikram’s joint family, with varied members. The story has got lots of unexpected twists and turns.[7]

    • is Vikram 's younger brother and Sathya's estranged husband, who after knowing the true extent of the relationship that co-existed between Vikram and Sathya, left Sathya and returned to the military, right after his marriage.then he is known to be lost when he was in military camp.

Casting[edit]

Amit Bhargav was chosen due to his amazing performance in Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai. Priya Bhavani Shankar was chosen to play one of the female leads but she declined. News Anchor Sharanya Turadi Sundaraj (who looks cute) later chosen, is making their debut with the series. Nisha Krishnan was chosen as well after her great performances in many shows on Vijay TV.[13] Later Soumiya was replaced role of Sathya in Episode: 122, formerly featured in the series Valli. Anuradha was cast to portray the negative role of Akhilandeshwari. Other supporting cast include Ashwanth Thilak, Sri Durga and J. Lalitha.

Development[edit]

On 27 August 2017, the first promo of the show one minute 'Song' was released by Vijay TV on YouTube.[14] On 21 May 2017, the second, On 3 September 2017 promo of the show was released by Vijay TV.

Airing History[edit]

The series premiered from 9 October 2017 on Monday to Friday at 20:00 (IST). After 20 August 2018, the airing time changed to Monday to Friday at 20:30 (IST), due to a new series, Ponnukku Thanga Manasu, taking its original timeslot.

Chinna Thambi is a 2017-2019 Tamil languagevillage romance soap opera starring Prajin and Pavani Reddy in the lead roles and Anila Sreekumar,Rhema Ashok and Lokesh Baskaran in pivotal roles. It started airing on 2 October 2017 on Vijay TV on every Monday to Friday at 10:00 PM (IST). On 5 February 2018, the show shifted to airs Monday through Friday at 9:30 PM (IST). Later the show shifted to airs Monday through Friday at 10:30 PM (IST).[1][2][3] The story about the relationship of an innocent village boy as Chinna Thambi (Prajin) and an arrogant city girl as Nandhini (Pavani Reddy), who fall in love after Marriage. it is a remake of Bengali language serial Khokababu.[4] This serial is remade into Telugu in the name Savitramma gari abbayi which is being aired on Star Maa.

Plot[edit]

It is a story about Chinna Thambi (Prajin), an innocent village boy from Chinnalapatty who falls in love with Nandhini (Pavani Reddy), an arrogant girl from Chennai. Chinna Thambi is very innocent, having moral values. He obeys his mother Annalakshmi sternly and loves his family. On the other side Nandhini, is totally opposite in nature of Chinnathambi, But Nandhini has a good heart.

Nandhini’s marriage is fixed with Gautham(Lokesh) and the engagement is also done. Coincidentally one day Chinna Thambi and Nandhini meet and get into a heated argument. Chinna Thambi keeps himself away from Nandhini because he is a Baal Brahmachaari. And Nandhini too dislikes him. Will they become friends and love each other? Will their love overcome their contrasting personalities, cultures and values?

On the day of marriage, Gautham is arrested for a false accusation and a fainted Nandhini gets married to Chinnathambi, on the request of her parents. Then, Nandhini moves to village with Chinnathambi. Swetha accompanies Nandhini to help her get accustomed to the new environment. At first, Nandini hates her life in the village, with small issues such as not being able to eat meat, or wear modern clothes. One day, her father-in-law(chinnathambi's dad) hears her speak bad of chinnathambi's looks. She remarks on the clothes and hair he has, saying he has a priest's look. Her father-in-law brings Chinnathambi and changes his looks into something more modern, which shocks everyone in the house including Nandini and chinnathambi's mother.

Casting[edit]

The series is a village love story. Prajin, formerly of the series Anjali and Kadhalikka Neramillai plays the lead male role, and Pavani of the serial Rettai Vaal Kuruvi, EMI-Thavanai Murai Vazhkai and Vajram movie plays the lead female role. Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai fame Lokesh was selected to the role of Gautham (Nandhini Fiance) and Saravanan Meenatchi (season 2) fame Priya and Franklin was selected to the role of Sathya and Appu.

Title[edit]

This title was taken from a 1991 Chinna Thambi movie starring Prabhu and Kushboo. The English translation of the title is Little Brother.

On 23 September 2017, the first promo of the show one minute 'Promo 1' was released by Vijay TV on YouTube.[8]

Airing history[edit]

The show started airing on Vijay TV on 2 October 2017 and It aired on Monday through Friday at 10:00 PM (IST). Later its timing changed Starting from Monday 5 February 2018, the show was shifted to airs Monday through Friday at 9:30 PM (IST) time Slot. A show named Ninaika Therintha Manamae replaced this show at 10:00 PM (IST). A show named Bigg Boss Tamil 2 replaced this show at 9:30 PM (IST) & pushed to 10:30 PM (IST).
